Dan Bern - Dan Bern [Work, 1997]: 7 (B+)

I'm cheating a little on this one, because I'm 99.9% sure I bought this and sold it off when it came out, before the streaming era began. In fact, I distinctly remember listening to it way more than three times at that time, trying to understand how people were praising it so highly. Anyway, I did stream it once just now to make sure, and, not only am I having the same sell-it-off reaction (seems like a "liked" to me, at best), I can't really remember any of the tracks, just the voice that I frankly find a little derivative and slightly irritating, neither of which are good signs. So the 7 (B+) is probably upping it a notch in good faith for not streaming it three more times to make absolutely sure. #singer-songwriter/dylanimitator
