Before 11/2020, grades range from 5 to 3.5 stars. After that, grade range is: 10 (A+), 9.5 (high A), 9 (A), 8.5 (high A-), 8 (A-), 7.5 (high B+), and 7 (B+). Ungraded albums are noted as liked :-) (honorable mention), neutral :-|, and disliked :-(. At least 4 listens per graded album and 3 listens per ungraded album. Search "Grade Post" for more info. I sold/shelved ~10,000 albums after at least 3 or 4 listens, respectively, before starting this blog and will add entries for those as they arise.

The Mighty Diamonds - Reggae Street: 8 (A-)
This is one of those that should be available for a "nice price" but it's not. You have to overpay for a first generation CD transfer, which could be a needle drop, or go for original vinyl, which is even more overpriced. Plus it's always hard to go for vinyl when there is a CD available, but it's overpriced. I feel like I'm settling for vinyl in those cases and that's not why I buy vinyl. So, I'll be skipping this. Update (December 2025): Found a CD for a reasonable price, and even though it's first generation (Shanachie, 1989), it sounds pretty great, although one does have to turn it up a little. Definitely not a needle drop. I wonder if the 1997 CD reissue on Shanachie sounds any better or is mastered/remastered better? Probably the same as this. Anyway, upped a notch upon relistening several more times. Really nice, very early 1980s reggae album (originally released in 1981), with Sly & Robbie, and Chinna Smith on lead guitar. Sub-classic, but still essential for any fan of reggae of that prime era.
