Extremely talented and brilliant artist, but I am not buying this. Half of the songs are on Talk Normal, so this grade is more for the other half. Talk Normal really does a fantastic job of getting you the absolutely essential Laurie Anderson. The only album of hers which in my opinion still needs to be absorbed whole is Strange Angels. If they had removed those tracks from Talk Normal, and all of the tracks from United States Live, which also really needs to be heard in its entirety, that would have freed up almost an hour of space and they could have made the collection absolutely definitive, but obviously they couldn't do that. I also watched the entire film and would give it a B or B+.
Before 11/2020, grades range from 5 to 3.5 stars. After that, grade range is: 10 (A+), 9.5 (high A), 9 (A), 8.5 (high A-), 8 (A-), 7.5 (high B+), and 7 (B+). Ungraded albums are liked (fka honorable mention) :-), neutral :-|, and negative :-(. At least 3 listens per posted album. Search "Grade Post" for more info. I shelved/sold ~10,000 albums after at least 3 listens before starting this blog and will add entries for those as they come up. Yes, I know that album (probably).
