The Velvet Underground - The Complete Matrix Tapes: 7 (B+)

Only 22 non-repeated songs. They should have picked the best of the repeats and made a great 2CD set. As it is, I’m not paying outrageous used prices for a bloated collection. Some of these tracks are on the Quine tapes and CDs five and six of the VU super deluxe edition. I’m guessing the latter are the best way to hear the Matrix performances now, but I'm not springing for a 6CD set just to get them. I will give them a listen or two though. I'll also pull out the 1969 live album and rate that as well, and then I'll be done with these particular performances.
