Le Seigneur Rochereau et l'Orchestre African-Fiesta National - L'Afrique Danse No. 4: 8.5 (high A-)
One of the classic early African 360 releases, but used vinyl is too expensive at this grade. I think this was the first single-artist African 360 release.
Fang - Landshark!: 7 (B+)
As recent entries show, I've spent some probably ill-advised time listening carefully to items on Cobain's top 50 albums list that I wasn't already familiar with. Almost none of them seemed worthwhile, except for maybe this. Physicals too expensive to even put on the wantlist at this grade.
Miranda Lambert - The Weight of These Wings: 7.5 (high B+)
Upped from honorable mention. Normally would be #country at this grade, but it did so well in the polls that I picked one up. Also, it's a great package -- the modern double album.
The Faith/Void - The Faith/Void: 7.5 (high B+)
This was remastered, and put on a CD, with an extra EP by Faith which I don't want. The remaster was also sold on vinyl, which I will make a couple exceptions to get, mainly # [hardcore], but also conceivably # [multi-artist comp]. Anyway, it's a seminal release, and a seminal Dischord release, and not available on remastered CD in original format, so I purchased the remastered vinyl directly from the label. Rare that I do that, but this is a special case.

Originally, I passed on these as #r&b at these grades, but I now have them as part of the Original Album Classics boxlet and will post on them individually after hearing them at least once more in connection with working through the boxlet.
Bembeya Jazz National - Hommage a Demba Camara: 7 (B+)
Muzikifan puts this in his African Top 50 list, each of which I would have to guess is at least either 9.5 (high A) or 10 (A+), if he were using the same rating system that I use. I just can't believe he'd consider any of his top 50 at the 9 (A) grade. Anyway I like the band, but I think this release is a little spotty. Sekou Diabate is a fantastic guitarist (I presume he's on here), and I am listening to other albums of the band's, trying to get a handle on them.
