Lloyd Cole - Don't Get Weird on Me Babe: 7 (B+)

Upped a notch upon further listening, and for giving Robert Quine work and letting him express himself a little. Also, this and Rattlesnakes are his best-rated albums on AllMusic, both by users and the site reviewer. It's a nice album.

Pere Ubu - The Long Goodbye: 7 (B+)

Upped from "neutral" after who knows how many listens. Not sure why it took me so long to hear this, given how much I love the band.

Stephen Stills - Stephen Stills

:-| [“Love the One You’re With” is obviously a classic.]

Tappa [Tapper] Zukie - In Dub: 7 (B+)

Upped from "liked" on sixth play. This one has several different covers. My copy has the above.

Girl Talk - All Day: 8.5 (high A-)

Upped from 7 (B+). Originally digital-only, then limited vinyl pressings started to appear. I got in on the latest pressing, June 2024. Many more than 3 listens, and it gets better every time.

Mose "Fan Fan" et T.P. Somo Somo - place holder

I'm trying to complete my listening to the works of Mose Fan Fan and Somo Somo. This is the only major release I have not been able to locate in any form anywhere. I hope I see it one day.

Sharon Van Etten - Remind Me Tomorrow: 3.5 hours

Another one of these Bandcamp releases where the CD is only available for over-inflated prices, rather than through normal distribution channels. So I will pass on this at B plus.

Neil Young & Crazy Horse - Live Rust: 4.5 stars

I think I probably like this more than Rust Never Sleeps.

Kraftwerk - Autobahn: 7 (B+)

With first side at 8 (A-) and second at “liked” at best. I wish the single version of the title track were on a good comp or something. It’s such a seminal track, I may end up with this anyway. #krautrock

Steve Miller Band - Fly Like an Eagle: 7 (B+)

Never reissued on remastered CD. Well, it was, I gather, in 1999, in a chintzy "cardboard wallet." In other words, I will treat this like all albums with only first generation CD transfers - and refuse to buy the CD or the original vinyl, unless there are extenuating circumstances. In any event, half the tracks are on Greatest Hits 1974-78. [4 listens]

T.P. Somo Somo [Mose Se "Fan Fan" Songo] - Amba: 4 stars

Try finding this one in physical. In any event, skipping it fits in well with my new m.o. of sticking with the Stern's releases for the 80s soukous artists.

Pablo Moses - Pave the Way: 7 (B+)

There are some very good songs on here, but most if not all of them are on Reggae Greats, which I have, for some reason, even though it repeats five-eighths of A Song. I guess I bought it to buy the good Pave the Way tracks. Anyway, given that, and that this is out of print, vinyl is overpriced, and this is only a 7 (B+) at best, I'm going to skip the physical. Four plays; listened once to dub version. Update (June 2026): Listened to dub version three more times and would also rate it 7 (B+). I have an alert up for Pave the Way + Dubs but doubt I will ever see a copy for a price I am willing to pay.
